'Terrified' (A Shudder Original) Movie Review

As I was falling in the black hole that is YouTube, I had stumbled upon a very creepy movie trailer for a Spanish movie called Aterrados. I really wanted to watch it but I didn’t know where to find it. So times goes by, I finally subscribe to Shudder, and wah-la! Atterados is there, but now it is called Terrified--a Shudder original. After watching the movie, that’s just what Terrified is: terrifying.

After strange occurrences (and death) happen back to back in a neighborhood in Buenos Aires, a doctor specializing in the paranormal, her colleague, and an ex-police officer investigate further. What they find is terrifying.

The movie has plenty of WTF moments. The WTF moments were definitely the reanimated corpses and monsters (some entities) that we see in the film. It isn’t a zombie film, but some bodies come back to life because something from another dimension uses them as a host. This is a paranormal movie, unlike the others. It is definitely a breath of fresh air for the subgenre.

The jump scares in the movie work efficiently and they scared the hell out of me. Honestly, I never fall for cheap jumpscares. But since these ones weren't cheap, I kept falling for them. I know a lot of horror fans hate jump scares, but you'll like these ones!

Reading the subtitles is so worth it. Watch Terrified on Shudder!
