I Loved Season 3 of Stranger Things (Spoilers)

Netflix Original Series Stranger Things returned with a bang for July 4th's season 3 premiere (See what I did there? Bang? July 4th? Fireworks? Yeah). Not only did the show have some record-breaking views, but it was also a solid season with many twists, surprises, emotion, and gore.

The relationship between Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and Mike (Finn Wolfhard) is strong, playful, and steady until Hopper (David Harbour) starts to feel uncomfortable and hilariously intervenes. Hopper is dealing with being the father of a teenage El and is finding a way to express his emotion with the help of Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder). Max (Sadie Sink) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) are still together, always hanging out, but they don't seem like a couple. They also, like, never kiss and I think it's because Sadie Sink was so uncomfortable with the kissing scene in season 2 (she talked about it in the after show Beyond Stranger Things). Nancy (Natalia Dyer) and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) are still going steady, sleeping together, and both work for a newspaper with really sh*tty people. Max's brother, Billy (Dacre Montgomery) is the hot lifeguard that gets brings all the Cougars to the yard. Will (the wise)(Noah Schnapp) is struggling between his friends being in relationships and no longer wanting to play Dungeons & Dragons like the good old days. Steve (Joe Keery) works at an ice cream shop with newcomer Robin, played by Maya Hawke (daughter of Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke), and is still lonely and hanging out with the kids like the babysitter he truly is. Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) is still a goofball and is now in a long distance relationship with a girl he met at camp.

One of the things I really enjoyed about this season was seeing the growth everyone had. No, I'm not talking about how these kids look totally different now, I'm talking about the character growth and changes that take place. The one that stood out to me the most was Hopper. Hopper is just a man who wants to do the right things but fails all the time. And although he keeps failing at what he is trying to accomplish, he keeps on trying.

What I also really enjoyed was the horror and the monster in this season. The Mind Flayer is back, but this time, it takes the form of combusted human and rat flesh (yeah, f*cking gross) and comes out from the gate Eleven closed last season because of the Russians! And we get to see Billy really shine as he goes from badass step-brother to psycho-hiding-behind-a-smile as the Mind Frayer takes control of him.

Newcomer, Robin, was probably my favorite this season besides Hopper. She was funny and brought something fresh to the show. And I was totally surprised that she actually didn't have a crush on Steve, but on the girl that was always staring at Steve (Poor Steve. The dude needs love). And Lucas's sister Erica (Priah Ferguson) is back and she is very funny and I love that she says sh*t a lot.

And I love seeing the friendship between Max and Eleven because it seemed very genuine and fun. And I'm sure weirdos out there are going to ship them.

Yes, I am f*cking sad and miserable at the fact that Hopper died (or did he?...The end credits say otherwise as the Russians mention an American prisoner). And he never got to go on a date with Joyce! And she freaking stood him up the first time!

With Joyce, Jonathan, Will, and Eleven moving out of Hawkins, I don't know what the flip is going to happen. Who really knows? I guess we will have to wait and see. And I miss the Demogorgons.

Anyway, I hope they make a season 4 and I hope it will be available next year and not two because that was too long Duffer Brothers! Way too long!
