Texas Chainsaw 3D (Movie Review)

Texas Chainsaw 3D (2013)
Directed by John Luessenhop
Starring Alexandra Daddario. Trey Songz, Tania Raymonde, and Scott Eastwood.

As I was watching the titles of Texas Chainsaw 3D, and they were showing a sequence of the events that happened in the original film I was very excited. And when the movie opened to the events after the woman escaped Leatherface's chainsaw as she hopped on the truck I was even more excited. And as the movie opened to a shoot out with the Sawyer Family, I was beginning to think that this movie was going to be awesome. Boy, was I let down.

Texas Chainsaw 3D is a direct sequel to The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974). A young girl (lol) inherits her grandmother's home in Texas and finds out that she is related to the infamous Sawyer Family.

First of all, that timeline. Okay, it is a direct sequel. The first movie was in 1974. Heather (Alexandra Daddario) is obviously not a thirty-nine-year-old woman as she would be. Instead, she is anywhere from 18 to 21. Is there a f*ckin' Delorean somewhere they didn't tell us about?

The kills were awesome and gruesome and chilling. Leatherface looked okay but not as good as Leatherface from the 2003 film. The mask was...eh.

The one-liners were a cringe-fest. "Welcome to Texas, motherf*cker" and "Do your thing, cuz".

I don't hate this movie, but I really don't care much for it. It is fun to watch. It can be used as white noise, but that's it. It is definitely not a masterpiece.

p.s. the best part of the film is Bill Moseley

Keep it creepy!
